Marches Family Network
Marches Family Network is the only provider offering group social activities for young people with disabilities under 18 years old, and for young people with complex disabilities and health needs in Herefordshire. No formal diagnosis or professional referral is necessary to access our services, and the young people do not need to live within the county. We welcome siblings, when places are available.
We provide inclusive activities and events throughout the year in a wide variety of different locations across the county, ensuring that we are fully accessible to all the young people and their families who need us. We have young people attending our sessions from 4 neighbouring counties, due to lack of local provision in their areas. All of our activities are supported by a dedicated and trained youth team who help the young people to get the very best out of all the activities in a safe and stimulating environment.
Our youth team are highly trained in a variety of areas, including gastrostomy feeding (tube feeding), behaviour management, diabetes, epilepsy, safeguarding, administering emergency medication, paediatric first aid, emergency first aid and moving and handling, enabling us to meet the needs of young people with complex disabilities and health needs. These are often the young people who are most excluded and the families who are in most need of respite.
In addition to the services, we provide to the young people, we also provide listening support, welfare support, signposting and advice to the families.
