The ELY Memorial Fund
The ELY Memorial Fund was set up on the 13th August 2012, after the tragic death of our Daughter Emma Louise Young (ELY) in a road traffic crash on the 30th September 2010.
Our aim is to fundraise through our charitable purposes to provide a one-off condolence gift to help pay for a basic funeral for a young person, who is tragically killed in a road traffic crash.
We cover the age group 18 - 25 years because we know that families and young people will not think about life insurance for this age group. This is what happened to us and as a family struggled with our finances to pay for our Daughters funeral.
Our Charity supports families who reside in the County boundary of Herefordshire, no matter where their child is living at home or away, such as University or travelling, we will still offer our support at the time of sheer devastation.
The Charity also actively campaigns to protect future young drivers to be safe when they become new drivers through our Young Drivers Experience programme. The Charity is also partnered with Hereford & Worcester Fire & Rescue Service with the Dying 2 Drive programme for Year 11s at Secondary Schools to raise the awareness of careless driving.
